5. Allah Subhanahuthala says, "We will certainly drag him by the forelock, a lying, sinful forelock. [96: 15 & 16} Who is he?
Answer: Abu Jahal
He was a most powerful and a great tyrant of Makkah. An arrogant, heartless, most ungrateful transgressor and a strong opposer of Islam. He developed unflinching enmity and hatered towards Islam and Allah's Messanger (SAW)
As a man of wisdom, Abu Jahl was mesmerized and touched by the eloquence of Quran. He liked to hear it during Tahajjud prayers of Prophet (SAW). Though he realized the truth about Islam, his prestige and tribal pride prevented him from becoming a believer.
The Banu Makhzum (Abu Jahl’s clan) competed with Banu Hashim (Prophet's clan) in everything to attain status and nobility. ‘A Prophet has come from Banu Hashim, receiveing revelations from the heaven’ By Allah, we will never believe in him and we will never accept his message!” He considers himself self-sufficient and attempts to prevent others from prayer.
Allah says by way of warning and threatening, if he ceases not, We will scorch his forehead a lying, sinful forehead! He was sealed as a lier by Allah Subhanahuthala.
In Arabic culture to pull the hair of forehead is a humiliating and authoritative or a fully controlling act. In two other places Allah mentions forelock in Quran. "...There is no creature but that He holds its forelock [i.e., has full control over it]...".(11:56) ;"The criminals will be known by their marks, and they will be seized by the forelocks and the feet". (55:41).
A Creator knows what He creates. Studies on Neuroscience shows that brain behind the forehead called frontal lobe is the centre of decision making, planning, and initiating voluntary and cognitive behaviors. MRI scans shows that this region is highly active when a person is engaged in lying or deceiving.
That's why Allah made prostration compulsary in Salah, especially two, in every rakath. Every time a person perform prostration Allah guides them to right thinking, become humble and submissive
الحمدلله
