2. Quran verse
and the related Ahadith:
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاتة
بِسْمِ
ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِٱلرَّحِيمِ
There is none of you who will not pass over it (Sirath
bridge over the Hell). This is a decree your Lord must fulfil. [Al Quran,
19:71].
In the above verse the Sirath bridge is not mentioned directly. But the following hadhith explains the nature of the bridge: Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (RA) reported that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said:
........The bridge, known as the Sirath, will be set
up over Hell. I (the Prophet (SAW) will be the first to cross it with my
Ummah. We, the companions of the Prophet (SAW) asked, "O Allah's Messenger
(SAW) What is the bridge?' He said, "It is a slippery (bridge) on which
there are clamps and (Hooks like) a thorny seed that is wide at one side and
narrow at the other and has thorns with bent ends. Such a thorny seed is found
in Najd and is called As-Sa'dan. Some of
the believers will cross the bridge as quickly as the wink of an eye, some
others as quick as lightning, a strong wind, fast horses or she-camels. So some
will be safe without any harm; some will be safe after receiving some
scratches, and some will fall down into Hell (Fire). The last person will cross
by being dragged (over the bridge)........." [Sahih al-Bukhari, 7439]
The other ahadith regarding Sirath are the following:
Narrated Masruq (RA): "'Ayesha (RA) recited this Ayah: "The Day when the earth will be changed to another earth (14:48)". She asked: 'O Messenger of Allah (SAW)! Where will the people be?' He said: 'Upon the Sirat.'" [Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3121]
Narrated Masruq (RA) that 'Ayesha (RA) asked: "O Messenger of Allah ( SAW)! - On the Day of Resurrection the whole earth will be grasped by His Hand and the heavens will be rolled up in His Right Hand (39:67). Where will the believers be?" He said: "Upon the Sirat O 'Ayesha!"[Jami` at-Tirmidhi, 3242]
We cannot even imagine a bridge which hold all the believers of earth! Subhanallah! May Allah Subhanahuthala make us all to cross the bridge quickly and enter into Paradise! Aameen!
الحمدلله
