Allah’s reply to those who ask whether Resurrection may
happen
عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاتة
بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ
ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِٱلرَّحِيمِ
There are number of verses about Resurrection in Quran. They are:
[50:43] It is certainly We Who give life and cause death. And to Us is the final return.
[23: 15 & 16] “…you are to die. Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, will be resurrected”.
[42: 9] He gives life to the dead, and He is Able to do all things.
[22:66] He is the one who gave you life; then He causes you to die and then will [again] give you life.
[45:26] Allah causes you to live, then causes you to die; then He will assemble you for the Day of Resurrection, about which there is no doubt, but most of the people do not know."
[80:22 & 23] He causes his death and provides a grave for him. Then when He wills, He will resurrect them.
[50: 42 - 44] The Day they will hear the blast [of the Horn] in truth. That is the Day of Emergence [from the graves]. It is certainly We Who give life and cause death. And to Us is the final return. On the Day the earth breaks away from them [and they emerge] rapidly; that is a gathering easy for Us.
[36:51 & 52] And the Horn will be blown; and at once from the graves to their Lord they will hasten. They will say, "O woe to us! Who has raised us up from our sleeping place?" [The reply will be], "This is what the Most Merciful had promised, and the messengers told the truth."
[79: 14 &13] Indeed, it will be but one shout, And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface.
[58:6] On the Day Allah resurrects them all together, He will then inform them of what they have done. Allah has kept account of it all, while they have forgotten it. For Allah is a Witness over all things.
Allah compares resurrection with reviving plant life in dead land after rains:
[50: 11] We have given life thereby to a dead land. Thus is the emergence [i.e., resurrection].
[7:57] He is the One Who sends the winds ushering in His mercy. When they bear heavy clouds, We drive them to a lifeless land and then cause rain to fall, producing every type of fruit. Similarly, We will bring the dead to life, so perhaps you will be mindful.
Allah has replied to those who ask whether Resurrection may happen:
Dead brought forth alive! Is it not magic?
(19:66) "When I have died, am I going to be brought forth alive?"
(11:7) if you say, "Indeed, you are resurrected after death," those who disbelieve will surely say, "This is not but obvious magic."
Answer:
(19: 67) Does not man remember that We created him before, when he was nothing?
[36:79] (O Muhammad {SAW}) "Say, "He will give them life who produced them the first time; and He is, of all creation, Knowing."
How resurrection may be possible from dust and bones?
[56: 47] They used to say, "When we die and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected?
[17-49] "When we die and become bones, fragments and dust, shall we then indeed be resurrected (to be) a new creation?"
[23:82] "When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected?
[27:67"When we have become dust as well as our forefathers, will we indeed be brought out [of the graves]?
[13: 5] If you are astonished, [O Muḥammad (SAW)] - then astonishing is their saying, "When we are dust, will we indeed be [brought] into a new creation?"
[36: 78] "Who will give life to bones while they are disintegrated?"
[79:10 - 12] They are asking, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? Even if we should be decayed bones?" Adding, “Then such a return would be a total loss for us!”
Allah [SWT) Answers:
[37:40, 50 - 55] the chosen servants of Allāh, (in paradise) will approach one another, inquiring of each other. A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion [on earth]. Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believeThat when we have died and become dust and bones, we will indeed be recompensed?'" He will ask, "Would you [care to] look?" And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire.
[17-50 to 52]. Say (O Muhammad [SAW]) "Be you stones or iron, or whatever you think is harder to bring to life!” Then they will ask you, “Who will bring us back to life?” Say, “The One Who created you the first time.” They will then shake their heads at you and ask, “When will that be?” Say, “Perhaps it is soon!” On the Day He will call you and you will respond with praise of Him and think that you had not remained [in the world] except for a little." On the Day He will call you, you will ˹instantly˺ respond by praising Him, thinking you had remained ˹in the world˺ only for a little while.
Is it a promise or tales of ancient?
[23:83] We have already been promised resurrection, as well as our forefathers earlier. This is nothing but ancient fables!”
[23:35 & 36] "Does he promise you that when you have died and have become dust and bones, you shall come out alive (resurrected)? "Far, very far is that which you are promised.
[46:17] But one who says to his parents, "Uff to you; do you promise me that I will be brought forth [from the earth] when generations before me have already passed on [into oblivion]?" while they call to Allāh for help [and to their son], "Woe to you! Believe! Indeed, the promise of Allāh is truth." But he says, "This is not but legends of the former peoples"
Answer:
[46:18] Those are the ones upon whom the word [i.e., decree] has come into effect, [who will be] among nations which had passed on before them of jinn and men. Indeed, they [all] were losers.
[16:38 - 40] And they swear by Allah their strongest oaths, that Allah will not raise up him who dies. Yes, (He will raise them up), a promise (binding) upon Him in truth, but most of mankind know not. In order that He may make clear to them the truth of that wherein they differ, and that those who disbelieved (in Resurrection, and in the Oneness of Allah) may know that they were liars. If We ever will something to exist, all We say is: “Be!” And it is!
There is nothing but our first death. If so, bring back our forefathers!
45:25 And when Our Clear Verses are recited to them, their argument is no other than that they say: "Bring back our (dead) fathers, if you are truthful!"
[56- 47 & 48]. "they used to say, "…. we indeed to be resurrected? And also our forefathers?"
[23:37] "There is nothing but our life of this world! We die and we live! And we are not going to be resurrected!
[23: 82 & 83] They said, "… are we indeed to be resurrected? We have been promised this, we and our forefathers, before; this is not but legends of the former peoples."
[44:35 & 36] "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. Then bring back our fore-fathers, if you speak the truth”
[6:29] And they said: "There is no (other life) but our (present) life of this world, and never shall we be resurrected (on the Day of Resurrection)."
Answer:
[56:49 & 50] Say (O Muhammad (SAW)): "(Yes) verily, those of old, and those of later times. All will surely be gathered together for appointed Meeting of a known Day”
[45:26] Say, O Prophet (SAW), “˹It is Allah Who gives you life, then causes you to die, then will gather you all [your previous generations i.e., forefathers] on the Day of Judgment, about which there is no doubt. But most people do not know.”
[64:7] They pretend that they will never be resurrected (for the Account):
Allahuthala answers them in Quran: Say (O Muhammad (SAW): "Yes! By my Lord, you will certainly be resurrected, then you will be informed of (and recompensed for) what you did, and that is easy for Allah.
[13: 5] It is they who will have shackles around their necks. And it is they who will be the residents of the Fire. They will be there forever.
When they brought in front of Allah, finally they will accept:
[6:30 & 31] If you could but see when they will be brought and made to stand in front of their Lord! He will say: "Is not this (Resurrection and the taking of the accounts) the truth?" They will say: "Yes, by our Lord!" Allahuthala will then say: "So taste you the punishment because you used not to believe."
Allah (SWT) says: “Losers indeed are those who deny the meeting with Allah until the Hour takes them by surprise, then they will cry, “Woe to us for having ignored this!” They will bear the burden of their sins on their backs. Evil indeed is their burden! This worldly life is no more than play and amusement, but far better is the eternal Home of the Hereafter for those mindful of Allah. Will you not then understand?”
Allahuthala explains Resurrection in detail with comparison:
[22:5 – 7] O mankind! If you are in doubt about the Resurrection, then verily! We have created you (i.e. Adam) from dust, then from a Nutfah (mixed drops of male and female sexual discharge i.e. offspring of Adam), then from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood) then from a little lump of flesh, some formed and some unformed (miscarriage), that We may make (it) clear to you (i.e. to show you Our Power and Ability to do what We will). And We cause whom We will to remain in the wombs for an appointed term, then We bring you out as infants, then (give you growth) that you may reach your age of full strength. And among you there is he who dies (young), and among you there is he who is brought back to the miserable old age, so that he knows nothing after having known. And you see the earth barren, but when We send down water (rain) on it, it is stirred (to life), it swells and puts forth every lovely kind (of growth). That is because Allah, He is the Truth, and it is He Who gives life to the dead, and it is He Who is Able to do all things. And surely, the Hour is coming, there is no doubt about it, and certainly, Allah will resurrect those who are in the graves.
[30: 19] He brings out the living from the dead, and brings out the dead from the living. And He revives the earth after its death. And thus shall you be brought out (resurrected).
[30:50] Look then at the effects (results) of Allah's Mercy, how He revives the earth after its death. Verily! That (Allah) Who revived the earth after its death shall indeed raise the dead (on the Day of Resurrection), and He is Able to do all things.
Finally, Allah Subhanahuthala says:
[30: 52 & 53] So indeed, you will not make the dead hear, nor will you make the deaf hear the call when they turn their backs, retreating. And you cannot guide the blind away from their error. You will only make hear those who believe in Our verses so they are in submission to Allāh.
