10. Ramzan Quiz

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاتة

ِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِٱلرَّحِيمِ

10. On the Day of Judgement Allahuthala will ask a particular Prophet's community, "Did your Messenger conveyed my message?" They will reply, "No! no Prophet came to us". With the knowledge of hadhees name that Prophet's community.

Answer: Nuh (AS)'s community.

Allah's Messenger ﷺ said, "Nuh (AS) and his nation will come on the Day of Resurrection and Allah will ask Nuh [AS]), "Did you convey (the Message)?' He will reply, 'Yes, O my Lord!' Then Allah will ask Nuh's nation, 'Did Nuh (AS) convey My Message to you?' They will reply, 'No, no prophet came to us.' Then Allah will ask Nuh (AS), 'Who will stand a witness for you?' He will reply, 'Muhammad ﷺ and his followers (will stand witness for me).' So, I and my followers will stand as witnesses for him (that he conveyed Allah's Message)." That is, (the interpretation) of the Statement of Allah: "Thus we have made you a just and the best nation that you might be witnesses Over mankind." (2.143). [Sahih al-Bukhari, 3339].

The story of Nuh (AS) was revealed in detail in Surah Hud, Ash-Shuara, As- Saffath and  Surah Nuh of the Holy Quran. Allahuthala sent Nuh (AS) as the first Rasool after Adam (AS). He is mentioned 43 times in Quran. 21 times along with his story. The rest is mentioned with the names of other Anbiyas. Allahuthala revealed his story only in Makki surahs of Quranae Pak; as a consolation to the Prophet Mohammad ﷺ and as an admonition to the elite, arrogant, stubborn Quraish. Like the people of Nuh (AS), Quraish showed similar behaviour to their Prophet  ﷺ .

He conveyed the same thowheed [لاإله إلا الله] message which Adam (AS) conveyed to his people. In spite of preaching his message for 950 long years  to his  Community, Nuh (AS) found them, closing there ears with their fingers, covering themselves with garments, turning away from him, disobeying, mocking, insulting him and continuing their  worship to their idols. They even plotting him to kill or exile from their place.   The same  arrogancy they will  exibit even on the Day of Judgement, (in front of their Creater, who knows everything about them), when they will be gathered along with their Messenger. Finally Allah drowned all those disbelievers saving the few who followed him in the ark.

Abdullah ibn Amr (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ,  said, “When death approached Nuh (AS), he called his sons and he said: 'Verily, my time is short and you must receive instruction. I command you with two and prohibit you with two. I forbid you from committing idolatry and arrogance. I command you to declare there is no God but Allah, for if the heavens and the earth and everything between them were placed on one side of the scale and the declaration of no God but Allah لاإله إلا الله were placed on the other, it would surely outweigh it. Were the heavens and the earth a ring of solid iron and the declaration of no God but Allah were placed upon it, it would shatter it to pieces. I command you to declare the glory of Allah and His praises, for it is the prayer of all things and by it all things are given provision.” [Musnad Aḥmad 7101].

The people of Nuh (AS) lived in southern Iraq near the present city called Kufah. Mount Judi on which the ship of Nuh (AS) halted is located at Syrian and Turkish borders. The following map shows its location. It is from "Atlas of the Quran" by Dr. Shauqi Abu Kalil. (2003), Darussalam.
