67. How prayer (Salath) is enjoined on the believers?

Answer: Verily, the prayer is enjoined on the believers at fixed hours. (4:103).

بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِٱلرَّحِيمِ

Ibn `Abbas said, "The prayer has a fixed time, just as the case with Hajj.'' Similar is reported by many scholars. The hadeeth narrated by Bukhari (496) and Muslim (122) from Abd-Allah ibn Masood (RA) who said: I asked “Which deed is most beloved to Allah?” to the Prophet ﷺ, He said: “Prayer offered on time.” He said, “Then what?” He said, “Honouring one’s parents.” He said: “Then what?” He said, “Jihad for the sake of Allah.” So hasten to perform the Salath.

Allah has mentioned in Quran the following:

So woe unto those performers of Salath.  Who delay their Salath from their stated fixed times, (Al-Maun, 4 & 5)

And seek help in patience and As-Salath in and truly it is extremely heavy and hard except for the true believers in Allah. (Al-Baqara, 2: 45).

Indeed whosoever purifies himself shall achieve success, and remembers (glorifies) the Name of his Lord and prays. (Al-Ala, 107:14 &15)

Successful indeed are the believers. Those who offer their Salath with all solemnity and full submissiveness (Al-Mumenoon, 1&2)

Those devoted to Salath, those who remain constant in their Salath, (Al-Maarij, 22 & 23) And those who guard their Salath well. Such shall dwell in the Gardens honoured. (Al-Maarij, 34 & 35).

Verily, As-Salath prevents from great sins of every kind, and all kinds of evil & disbelieve  and the remembering of Allah is greater indeed.(Al-Ankaboot, 29:45)

Worship Me, and perform As-Salath for My Remem brance. (Taha, 20:14)

Guard strictly As-Salath especially the middle Salath, i.e. the best prayer – (Asr). And stand before Allah with obedience (Al-Baqara, 2:238)

Verily, As-Salath prevents from Al-Fahsha' (i.e. great sins of every kind) and Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief etc.) and the remembering of Allah is greater indeed.

Let us pray:

"O my Lord! Make me one who performs As-Salath, and (also) from my offspring, Our Lord! And accept my invocation. (Ibrahim, 14:40)

.رَبِّ ٱجْعَلْنِى مُقِيمَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِى ۚ رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَآءِ

الحمدلله
