Q-1:

                                       Ramzan Quiz

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاتة

بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِٱلرَّحِيمِ

“And let not those of virtue among you and wealth swear not to give [aid] to their relatives and the needy and the emigrants for the cause of Allāh, and let them pardon and overlook. Would you not like that Allāh should forgive you? And Allāh is Forgiving and Merciful.” [24:22]

When this verse was revealed? Who does it refer to?

Answer:

This verse was revealed along with the verses that proved the innocence of Ayesha (RA). The person swore was Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA) and the needy relative is Mistah.

Mistah was the cousin of Abu- Bakr As-Siddiq (RA), the son of his maternal aunt. He was very poor and the one of those who had migrated for the sake of Allah. He was living with the only money that Abu Bakr was spending on him. He was the one among those who had invented the lies and spread the slander of Ayesha (RA). So Abu Bakr (RA) her father swore "By Allah I will never spend on him.''

Along with the verses that prooved the innocence of Ayesha (RA), Allahuthala asked "Do you not like that Allah should forgive you, and `if you forgive others, you will be forgiven,' then As-Siddiq said, "Of course, by Allah, we love -- O our Lord – that You should forgive us.''

Then he resumed his spending on Mistah and said, "By Allah I will never stop spending on him.'' The tender hearted friend and father-in law of the Prophet (SAW) repented to Allahuthala much  for that, with a special forgiveness dua.

الحمدلله
