3. Those who are reciting this supplication along with its previous verse at night will find them sufficient for their needs. What is that supplication?

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاتة

بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِٱلرَّحِيمِ 

Answer:

"Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people." The last verse of Surah-al- Baqara. [2:286]

The previous ayath:

The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allāh and His angels and His books and His messengers, [saying], "We make no distinction between any of His messengers." And they say, "We hear and we obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final] destination." [2:285]

Allāh does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the consequence of what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned [2:286]

Abu Mas’ud (RA) reported: The Prophet [SAW] said, “Whoever recites the last two verses of Surat al-Baqarah in the night, it is enough for him.” [Sahih al-Bukhari, 5051, Sahih Muslim 807, Sunan Abi Dawud hadith 1397]

It was narrated that ‘Abdullah said: "When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was taken on the Night Journey, he came to Sidrah Al-Muntaha. ........And I was given three things: The five daily prayers, the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah, and whoever of my Ummah dies without associating anything with Allah will be forgiven for Al-Muqhimat. (The sins of the worst magnitude that drag one into the Fire.)” [Sunan an-Nasa’i hadith. 451].

These two aayath [2:285 and 286] are of significant spiritual importance in islam because they:

☆ were given as a special gift from the treasures of Arsh of Allah [Azza wa Jall] exclusively to the Umma of Prophet Mohammad (SAW).

☆ no other Prophet got this type of message.

☆ remind the believers that Allah knows everything within the heavens and earth, including our innermost thoughts.

☆ affirming that challenges in life are within one’s strength to handle with faith;

☆ carry messages of ultimate accountability to Allah for all actions, intentions and thoughts;

☆ acknowledges human limitations, weaknesses and dependence on Allah;

☆ contains powerful supplication seeking relief from burdens beyond one’s ability with a comforting effects on believers;

☆ when we recite, it gives protection from hardships; Allah’s Grace, Compassion, Support, Mercy and Forgiveness.

☆ It is a prayer we pray for the triumph of truth over falsehood

☆ and it establishes a closer connection to Allah.

2. Which supplication the army of King Talut invocated to Allah Subhanahuthala before they met Jalut and his forces?

 السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاتة   

بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِٱلرَّحِيمِ

Answer:

رَبَّنَآ اَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَّثَبِّتْ اَقْدَامَنَا وَانْصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْکٰفِرِيْنَ‏

"Our Lord, pour down upon us patience, and make our steps firm and assist us against the unbelieving people." [2:250]

This is the prayer invoking for patience and perseverance during the trials from the enemies of Allah. It helps to remain faithful in the true religion of Allah.

Allah (Azza wa jall) says in Quran:

"So when Talut departed with the forces, he said: Surely Allah will try you with a river; whoever then drinks from it, he is not of me, and whoever does not taste of it, he is surely of me, except he who takes with his hand as much of it as fills the hand; but with the exception of a few of them they drank from it. So when he had crossed it, he and those who believed with him, they said: We have today no power against Jalut and his forces. Those who were sure that they would meet their Lord said: How often has a small party vanquished a numerous host by Allah's permission, and Allah is with the patient" [2:249]

Ibn Kathir in his thafsir mentioned that the army of King Talut  had initially eighty thousand soldiers. The river,  they crossed was the Shariah river that flowed between Jordan and Palestine. Their obedience was tested while crossing the river.

Whoever dranks more were not accompanied the King. And those who took water in the hollow of his hand and drank, followed him.

Ibn Jurayj stated that Ibn `Abbas commented, “Whoever took some of it (the river’s water) in the hollow of his hand, quenched his thirst; as for those who drank freely from it, their thirst was not quenched.”

The faithful and obedient persons in the army followed the King. Israelites (who remained) thought that they were few in the face of their enemy who were many then.
He and those who believed with him, said: “We have no power this day against Jalut (Goliath) and his hosts”.

So, their knowledgeable scholars strengthened their resolve by stating that Allah’s promise is true and that triumph comes from Allah Alone, not from the large numbers or the adequacy of the supplies. They said to them: "How often has a small group overcome a mighty host by Allah’s leave” And Allah is with As-Sabirin (the patient).

Allah's book thus continues: "So they put them to flight by Allah's permission. And Dawood slew Jalut, and Allah gave him kingdom and wisdom, and taught him of what He pleased" [2:251].

A small built shepherd Dawood without any sophisticated armour killed Goliath with a slingshot. He aimed at fully armed Goliath's forehead causing him to die. His Amy ran off when they witness the death of their mighty leader.

Talut promised that whoever killed Jalut, would marry his daughter and would share his kingship and authority. He kept his promise. The kingship was transferred to Dawood and In addition Allah granted Prophet hood.

And were it not for Allah's repelling some men with others, the earth would certainly be in a state of disorder; but Allah is Gracious to the creatures [2:251]

For had it not been that Allah checks one set of people by means of another, monasteries, churches, synagogues, and Masjids, wherein the Name of Allah is mentioned much, would surely, have been pulled down.) (22:40)

These are the communications of Allah: We recite them to you [O Muhammad! (SAW)] with truth; and most surely you are (one) of the apostles.[2:252].

2. Whi

 

1.  Allah Subhanahuthala insisted every Muslim to invoke this supplication several times a day. What is that supplication?
                                         
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاتة 

بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِٱلرَّحِيمِ

Answer:

○ صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ ٱلْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ ○ ٱهْدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ

Guide us to the straight path - The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have earned [Your] anger or of those who are astray. [Al Fathiha, the last two ayaath].

When we recite this particular supplication, Allah Subhanahuthala responds to it. He has told, this in a hadheesae-Qudsi, ‘This (part of surah) is for My slave, and My slave will have what he requests.’ (Muslim, 395).

There is only one path of truth and that is the "path of Allah". Allah (Azza wa jall) says, “This is My path which is straight, so follow it. Do not follow other ways, for they cause you to deviate from His way. This is what He has instructed you to do, so that you will have taqwā (piety)” (6:153).

There are three categories of people, who follow this divine guidance:

1. The Blessed ones – [أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ]
2. Those who incurred anger [غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوْبِ].
3. The misguided [وَلَا الضَّآلِّيْنَ]

The blessed people stated in this ayah are described in Surah al-Nisa. Allah (Azza wa jall) says, “Whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger will be with those whom Allah has blessed: the Prophets and the Ṣiddiqin, the martyrs and the righteous. What excellent company such people are!” (4:69).

Those who incurred anger are those who had the knowledge but did not act upon it, deliberately rejecting the truth and inventing their own falsehood. And they also  make others to follow their path.

The misguided ones are those who lacked the knowledge and yet willingly go astray themselves.

Narrated 'Adiyy bin Hatim: that the Prophet (SAW) said: "The Jews are those who Allah is wrath with, and the Christians have strayed." [Jami` at-Tirmidhi, 2954]

God’s wrath will also be upon:

● the hypocrites;
● the polytheists; 
● those with evil assumption about God;
● those who disbelieve in the signs of Allah;
● those who killed the prophets;
● the people of the book  who were hiding the truth;
● those who turned away from struggling in the path of  Allah;
● the believers turning to disbelief and
● those accepting the friendship and leadership of enemies of God.


We seek this supplication specifically to Allah (Azza wa jall):

★ to avoid the constant whispering of accursed Shaithan who deviate us from the straight path;
★ to safeguard the  superior guidance and knowledge given to us;
★ to prevent us following the fabricated guidance and transgression;
★ to place us in the company of His best creation;
★ to direct us to have lofty aspirations; and
★ to strive towards the best.

Hence we should always thank Allah (Azza wa jall) for the blessings of iman, guidance and born as Muslims.

These two ayaath also remind us to be optimistic, ambitious, extremely hopeful and always consistant while we are making any dua.

14. உங்களுக்கு தெரியுமா ஸாபிகூன்கள் [سٰبِقُوۡنَ‏] [முந்தியவர்கள்] யார் என்று?

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاتة 

بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِٱلرَّحِيمِ

ஸாபிகூன்கள் [سٰبِقُوۡنَ‏] [முந்தியவர்கள்] யார் என்று திருக்குர்ஆனில் அல்லாஹ் சுபஹானஹீதாலா விளக்கியுள்ளான்:

நிச்சயமாக, எவர்கள் தம் இறைவனிடம் அஞ்சுபவர்களாக இருக்கிறார்களோ அவர்களும் (23:57)

இன்னும் எவர்கள் தம் இறைவனுடைய வசனங்கள் மீது நம்பிக்கை கொள்கிறார்களோ அவர்களும் (23:58).

இன்னும் எவர்கள் தம் இறைவனுக்கு (எதையும்) இணையாக்காதிருக் கிறார்களோ அவர்களும்  (23:59)

இன்னும் எவர்கள் தம் இறைவனிடம் தாங்கள் திரும்பிச் செல்ல வேண்டியவர்கள் என்று அஞ்சும் நெஞ்சத்தினராய்  தங்களால் இயன்ற மட்டும் (அல்லாஹ்வின் பாதையில்) கொடுக்கிறார்களோ அவர்களும்- (23:60)

இ(த்தகைய)வர்கள் தாம் நன்மைகளின் பக்கம் விரைகின்றனர்; இன்னும் அவற்றை (நிறைவேற்றி வைப்பதில்) முந்துபவர்களாகவும் இருப்பார்கள். (23:61)

அல்லாஹ் சுபஹானஹீதாலா ஸாபிகூன்களுக்கு மறுமையில் எப்படி வெகுமதி கொடுப்பான் என்று பாருங்கள்:

நம்பிக்கையில்) முந்தியவர்கள் (மறுமையிலும்) முந்தியவர்களே! [56:10].

இவர்கள் (இறைவனுக்கு) அண்மையிலாக்கப்பட்டவர்கள். [56:11]

இவர்கள் பாக்கியங்களுள்ள (சுவனச்) சோலை களில் இருப்பர். [56:12]ۙ‏

முதலாமவரில் ஒரு பெருங் கூட்டத்தினரும் [56:13]

பின்னவர்களில், ஒரு சொற்பத்தொகையினரும் (56:14).

(பொன்னிழைகளால்) ஆக்கப் பெற்ற கட்டில் களின் மீது, [56:15]

ஒருவரையொருவர் முன்னோக்கியவர்களாக, அவற்றின் மீது சாய்ந்திருப்பார்கள். [56:16]

நிலையான இளமையுடைய இளைஞர்கள் (இவர்கள் பணிக்காகச்) சுற்றிக் கொண்டே இருப்பார்கள். [56:17]

தெளிந்த பானங்களால் நிறம்பிய கிண்ணங் களையும், கெண்டிகளையும், குவளைகளையும் கொண்டு (அவர்களிடம் சுற்றி வருவார்கள்). (56:18)

(அதை) அவர்கள் பருகுவதினால் தலை நோய்க்கா ளாக மாட்டார்கள்; மதிமயங்கவுமாட்டார்கள். {56:19]

இன்னும் அவர்கள் தெரிந்தெடுக்கும் கனி வகை களையும் [56:20]

விரும்பும் பட்சிகளின் மாமிசத்தையும் (கொண்டு அவ்விளைஞர்கள் வருவார்கள்).(56:21).

(அங்கு இவர்களுக்கு) ஹூருல் ஈன் (என்னும் நெடிய கண்களுடைய) கன்னியர் இருப்பர். [56:22]

மறைக்கப்பட்ட முத்துக்களைப் போல் அவர்கள் (இருப்பார்கள்).[56:23]

(இவையாவும்) சுவர்க்க வாசிகள் (இம்மையில் செய்து கொண்டிருந்த) செயல்களுக்கு கூலி யாகும். [56:24]

அங்கு இவர்கள் வீணானதையும், பாவமுண்டாக்கு

வதையும் (கொண்ட பேச்சுகளைச்) செவியுற மாட்டார்கள். [56:25]

ஸலாம், ஸலாம்” என்னும் சொல்லையே (செவி யுறுவார்கள்) [56:26].

பிரார்த்தனை:

யா அல்லாஹ்! எங்களை அத்தகைய ஸாபிகூன் களோடு சேர்த்து கொள்.

14. Do you know who are all Sabiqoon? What Allah Subhanahuthala has promised them?

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاتة 

بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِٱلرَّحِيمِ

Allah Subhanahuthala has defined the Sabiqoon [سٰبِقُوۡنَ‏] [foremost] in His Holy Quran:

Verily! Those who live in awe for fear of their Lord; [23:57]

And those who believe in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord, [23:58].

And those who join not anyone (in worship) as partners with their Lord; [23:59]

And those who give that (their charity) which they give with their hearts full of fear, because they are sure to return to their Lord (for reckoning). [23:60]

It is these who race for the good deeds, and they are foremost in them [e.g. offering the compulsory Salath  in their (early) stated, fixed times and so on]. [23:61]

Allah Subhanhuthala has promised for Sabiqoon:

And the foremosts, the foremost [56:10].

Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] [56:11]

In the Gardens of Pleasure. [56:12]

A [large] company of the former people [56:13]

And a few of the later people. [56:14].

On thrones woven [with ornament], [56:15]

Reclining on them, facing each other. [56:16]

There will circulate among them young boys made eternal. [56:17]

With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring [56:18]

No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated. [56:19]

And fruit of what they select, [56:20]

And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire. [56:21]

[for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes [56:22]

The likenesses of hidden pearls [56:23]

As reward for what they used to do [56:24]

They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin, [56:25]

Only a saying [of] peace, peace. [56:26[

Prayer:

Ya Allah You include us among Sabiqoon! Aameen!
