5. If one is prevented while entering into Makkah for hajj in the state of Ihram, what he has to do?
Answer:
By a valid reason, if one is prevented from completing the rites of Hajj or Umrah he may come out from ihram by slaughtering a hady, shaving the head or trimming the hair. By distributing its parts among the poor of the place where he has been prevented.
It is also permissible to send the hady to al-Haram to be slaughtered. In such case Allah says: "Do not shave your heads until the offering reaches its destination"
The prevention may be due to
● sickness
●enemies or
● getting lost on the way to Makka.
Ath-Thawri also said, "Being prevented entails everything that harms the person.''
Imam Ahmad reported that Al-Hajjaj bin Amr Al-Ansari said that he heard Allah's Messenger ﷺ saying: "Whoever suffered a broken bone or a limb, will have ended his Ihram and has to perform Hajj again."
At Al-Hudaybiyyah the Makkan polytheists prevented Allah's Messenger ﷺ and one thousand and four hundred Companions from reaching the Allah's House.
Allah revealed Surah Al-Fath then, and allowed the Muslims to slaughter any Hady they had. They had seventy camels with them for that purpose. When the Prophet ﷺ commanded them to sacrifice their animals, shave their heads and end the state of Ihram, they did not obey him, as they were dejected very much from the prevention. Then when the Prophet ﷺ slaughtered his animal and shaved his head, they followed him.
Ayesha (RA) narrated that the Prophet asked Duba'a Bint al-Zubair, "Do you intend to perform hajj?" She replied, "By God, I did intend to but I am in pain." The Prophet ﷺ told her, "Perform hajj and set a condition and say, 'O God! I shall release myself from ihram from the place where You prevent me" [Recorded in the Sahih of Bukhari and Sahih of Muslim].
