2. What is وَالْبَیْت
الْمَعْمُور)) Baithul Mamur?
Answer: It is
"The inhabitated House", "The established House"
"Frequented House" situated in the seventh heaven directly above the Kabah of the earth. It is located exactly
below Allah's Arsh. Our Kabah is the exact replica of it.
It is mentioned in the Sura At-Thur, (52:4) where Allahuthala takes oath by
this and said, "Verily, the punishment of your Lord will surely come to
pass. There is none that can avert it " (52:7 & 8).
Baithul Mamur is the Kabah of those who reside in the seventh heaven. It has
two doors. Every day about a fresh batch of 70,000 angels worship Allah in
Baithul Mamur and perform Tawaf around it just as the people of the earth
perform Tawaf around the Kabah. Every angel after the Tawaf goes inside the Baithul
Mamur through one door and come out through the another door.
After that the angels never return to Baithul Mamur. Each group appoint a
leader, who took them all to a particular place in the heaven allotted for
them. Our Prophet ﷺ said that in all seven heavens in every space of four fingers,
an angel is performing Rukku & Sajjdha. They will stand there reciting
Tasbeeh till the Day of Resurrection. This act of fresh batch of angels coming and
worshipping daily takes place till the Resurrection Day. Subhanallah! Everyday
70000 angels! You can imagine the number of angels that were created by
Almighty Allah!
[Even our Kaaba in Makkah had earlier two doors and one window. But now it has
only one door even that is so high that no foreign person is allowed to go
inside. Only the Southy officials can visit. Our Rasullullah ﷺ had the
intention to make the two doors at ground level but he cannot do that in his
life time].
Our Prophet Nabi ﷺ said when on Al-Isra, after ascending to the seventh heaven:
" I was shown the Baithul Mamur. I asked Jibril (AS) about it and he said,
“This is the Baithul Mamur where 70, 000 angels enter it daily for ‘ibadah and
when they leave they never return to it…” (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 3207, Sahih Muslim,
Hadith: 164)
During the Isra' journey, the Prophet ﷺ saw Ibrahim (AS) was reclining with his
back on Baithul Mamur. It was Ibrahim (AS) who built the Kabah on this earth,
he was rewarded with the nearness of Allah, for his action.
For every heaven there is a similar house, for its dwellers for worship and to
perform Tawaf. It is also the direction of prayer for its residents. Such house
that is located in the lower heaven, is called Bayt Al-`Izzah. And Allah knows
best!In my humble opinion, if your finance does not allow to visit Kabah in your life time, if you do
rest of four duties perfectly and perform good deeds you can go to Jannah and
perform Tawaf daily! Subhanallah!
