66. Which one diverts man from Allah, until he
goes to grave?
بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِٱلرَّحِيمِ
Answer: "The mutual
rivalry for piling up of worldly things diverts you, until you visit the graves
(i.e. till you die). Nay! You shall come to know! Again, Nay! You shall come to
know! Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you
would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things) Verily, you shall see the
blazing Fire (Hell)! And again, you shall see it with certainty of sight! Then,
on that Day, you shall be asked about the delight (you indulged in, in this
world)!" (At thakathur, 102:1 to 8).
Man has a strong desire
*
for more worldly wealth,
*
to supersede all rivals,
*
to excel others
*
to compete for power
*
to compete for position
*
to have more comfort
*
to have more pleasure
*
for pursuing the higher things in life
*
to brag & boast about their possessions.
*
worried about the same for his children - till he visits the grave (till his
death).
With these worldly benefits the man was preoccupied. He forgets Allah, his Creator and Sustainer. Shaithan finds a very good opportunity to induce his greed. Instead of earning for the Hereafter, he will pile his fortune. He will find no time to think about the death, grave, questioning on the Day of Judgement and Jannum. He cannot take that piled fortune along with him when he dies.
So Allah warns him about the
punishment of grave and Hell by repeating the ayath twice. With "ilm-ul-
yaqin" the knowledge of certainty (عِلْمَ ٱلْيَقِينِ) he come to know
about Hell Fire. He is going to witness this truth of certainty (حقل ٱلْيَقِينِ)
with his own eyes (عَيْنَ
ٱلْيَقِينِ) on the Day of Judgement.
The blessings which he was
toiling hard to attain, were gifts from Allah. They are the objects of trail
for him. He is accountable for that. He will be asked how he earned, how he
spent. He will be questioned whether he was thankful, whether he paid Zakath
for that, whether he helped the needy.
May Allah help us to worship
you, do all our duties expected from us, ask forgiveness for our known and
unknown sins, protect us from the punishment of grave and Jahannum and ease our
questioning on the Day of Judgement and make us to enter the Paradise. Ameen.
الحمدلله
