64. According to the grade arrange the following words in order. Mumin, Muhisin, Muslim.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِٱلرَّحِيمِ
Answer: The order is:
1.
Muslim
2.
Mumin
3.
Muhsin.
Muslim is a term for a person who submits or surrenders obediently their will to One Allah, the Lord of the Universe. This is the first level of Iman. It is concerned with heart. It fulfils the minimum requirement to enter into Jannah.
There are countless
examples given in the Quran of those who are Muslims:
Prophet Noah (AS) said
"I have been commanded to be one of the Muslims." (10:72)
"Ibrahim (AS) was
neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was a true Muslim Hanifa" (3:67).
"But We found not there
any household of the Muslims except one [i.e. Lut (AS) and his two daughters].
(51:36)
Sulaiman (AS) in his letter
to Queen of Sheba wrote, "Be you not exalted against me, but come to me as
Muslims' (27:31)
Sulaiman (AS) acknowledged
his own state as "Knowledge was bestowed on us before her, and we were
Muslims." (27:42)
When death approached Yaqub
(AS) he said unto his sons, "What will you worship after me?" They
said, "We shall worship your Ilah, the Ilah of your fathers, Ibrahim (AS),
Isma'il (AS), Ishaque (AS), One Ilah and to Him we submit as Muslims."
(2:133).
Al-Hawariun (disciples) of Isa
(AS) said: "We are the helpers of Allah; we believe in Allah, and bear
witness that we are Muslims. " (3:52).
Yusuf (AS) prays to his
Lord, "The (only) Creator of the heavens and the earth! You are my Wali in
this world and in the Hereafter, and cause me to die as a Muslim" (12:101)
Even the magicians of Firaun
prayed, "Our Lord! pour out on us patience, and cause us to die as
Muslims." (7:126).
The two terms 'Muslim' and
'Mumin' have been used distinctly in the Quranic text. One may be a Muslim but may not yet be a 'Mumin'.
Unfortunately, the term 'believer' in English translation is vague. For
example, the Quran says:
The Bedouins say: "We
believe." Say: "You believe not but you only say, 'We have
surrendered (in Islam),' for Faith has not yet entered your hearts. But if you
obey Allah and His Messenger (), He will not decrease anything in reward for
your deeds."(49:14).
Allah says in Quran about
Mumin:
◆ Successful indeed are
the Mumin.
◆ Those who offer their
Salath with all solemnity and full submissiveness.
◆ And those who turn away
from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk).
◆ And those who pay the
Zakat.
◆ And those who guard
their chastity.
◆ Those who are faithfully
true to their Amanat (all the duties which Allah has ordained, honesty, moral
responsibility and trusts etc.) and to their covenants;
◆ And those who strictly
guard their Salath (at their fixed stated hours)." (Mumenun, 23:1-9).
So a mumin show iman in
action. This is a little higher level than a Muslim. The chances of entering
Jannah is more for mumin.
Muhisin - a higher
level believer:
Muhisin is a good-doer. He
prays hard, do good, fear Allah much, spend his wealth for Allah's cause, he
strives hard, led into right path by Allah and get the love of Allah and
rewarded by Allah by both the world's.
Allah gives in Surah Al-
Maida, two important virtues of Muhisin, one being the fear of Allah and the
other in performing good deeds of:
"Those who believe and
do righteous good deeds, there is no sin on them for what they ate (in the
past), if they fear Allah (by keeping away from His forbidden things), and
believe and do righteous good deeds, and again fear Allah and believe, and once
again fear Allah and do good deeds with Ihsan (perfection)." (5:93)
Allah loves Al-Muhsinun وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ
الْمُحْسِنِينَ because:
● they submit their face to Allah (2:112),
● perform As-Salath (11:114)
● invoke the Lord with humility and in secret
(7: 55)
● invoke Him with fear and hope (7: 56)
● will be patient (11:115)
● used to sleep but little by night praying, with
fear and hope (51:17)
● ask for forgiveness, in the hours before
dawn, (51:18)
● give their properties to beggar, and the
Mahrum (the poor who does not ask) (51:19)
● spend in prosperity and in adversity,
● repress anger,
● and pardon men; (3:134)
● spend in the Cause of Allah (i.e. Jihad of
all kinds, etc.) and strive hard (2:195).
All says, “Such shall have no fear, nor shall they grieve.” (2:112). “Their good deeds remove the evil deeds (i.e. small sins)”. Allah reward the Muhsinun (77: 44) in this world, and also give the excellent reward of the Hereafter. (3:148).
Ibrahim (AS) with ihisan
fulfilled the dream by sincerely attempting the sacrifice of his son and thus
raised to Muhsinun level (37:105). And Allah bestowed upon him Ishaque (AS) and
Ya'qub (AS), each of them He guided, to right path.
Because of his ihisan and
his patience in prison Allah gave full authority to Yusuf (AS) in Egypt, to
take possession, as when or where he likes (12:56). He came to such an extent
that he was addressed by his own brothers (12: 78) and by co-prisoners (12:36),
as Muhsinun.
Similarly, Allah guided Nuh
(AS), and among his progeny Dawud (AS), Sulaiman (AS), Ayub (AS), Yusuf (AS),
Musa (AS), and Harun (AS) as the Muhisinun. (6: 84).
Allah’s Messenger ﷺ said: “The
strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer,
although both are good. Strive to attain that which will benefit you and seek
the help of Allah and do not feel helpless.” [Sahih Muslim Hadith: 2664].
