The Greatness of Quran
Quran is a Divine Book of
Inspiration revealed to our Prophet Mohammed ﷺ . It
was revealed from Allah Subhanahuthala through Jibreel (AS). It has been sent
part by part to our Prophet ﷺ for
a period of 13 years in Makka before Hijra and 10 years in Madina after Hijra.
It is an intellectual treasure for
those who search for knowledge. For those who were well educated it is a
literary miracle. It contains verses that applies to all times. Its
literary style is incomparable and it will mesmerize those who are listening to
it. It is a cure for what is in the heart, a guide and a mercy for the
believers. It boosts the spirit of the one who is reciting and tranquilizes his
heart. It shows the way of life, insists on the certainty of death,
Resurrection and the Day of Judgement. It contains the verses showing the
realities of His Creation, unknown historical stories, clear signs of existence
of the Omnipotent, many scientific proofs and most eloquent advices. Unlike
other religious books its content has been unchanged for so many centuries. It
is preserved, protected and guarded in its original form in Al-Laugh Al-Mahfouz
by purified angels.
Allah Subhanahuthala Himself through His verses describe
Quran in His Scripture: It is a book in which verses are made plain (41:3). It
is a book no doubt a guide to those who guard against evil (2:2). It is a book
with full of Wisdom (36:2). It is the truth from our Creator (32:3) and the Creator
of heaven and earth. It contains best messages which causes the skin and hearts
of those who fear their Lord to tremble (39:23). It is a book with clear
explanations of past and an admonition for the pious (24:34). It is a book with
similitudes of every sort (39:27). It is nothing but a wise reminder (3:58)
from our Lord (7:63) to nations (6:90), for all mankind (12:104), to the
believers (11:120) and to the mindful (11:114).
Quran, the verbal revelation
given to the last Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , insists on
monotheism and associating others with Allah is a greatest sin. It gives good
news to the believers, who do good that they will be rewarded. (17:9, 33:47
& 46:12) It warns to the disbelievers the eternal torment (36:70). It
also insists on that the life of this world is little, compared to Hereafter
(9:38) and the death and resurrection is certain for every soul (3:185).
It commands the believers to
enjoin good and forbid the evil (3:104, 3:110; 9:71, 9:112, 31:17) and seek the
help of Allah through patience and prayer ((2:45), perform prayer in time
(4:103), pay the due to poor (22:78) secretly and openly, repel evil with good
(13:22), be submissive and gentle to the parents (17:24). Allah has ordered not
to break oath after confirmation, (16:92) not to eat orphan’s property (17:34)
and not to go nearer to fornication (17:32). Allah has forbidden usury (2:275),
backbiting (49:12), killing children for the fear of poverty (17:31), hunting
while in ihram (5:1) and eating blood, pork, dead animal and animal slaughtered
in any name other than Allah's (5:3).
Quran will intercede for
us on the Day of Judgement. Our Nabi ﷺ said: "The Quran is
an intercessor something given permission to intercede and it is rightfully
believed in. Whoever puts it in front of him, it will lead him to Paradise.
Whoever puts behind him it will steer him to the Hell Fire." The best of
the people are the ones who learn the Quran and teach it to others.
Allah is asking us,
"And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there
anyone who will mind?" (54:32).
Read Quran, fulfil the
purpose of life, elevate your position in the Paradise. For verily your
position in the Paradise will be decided by the last verse you recite in this
world.
