68. Imam Ahmad recorded that Umm Salamah (RA) the wife of the Prophet ﷺ said, "I said to the Prophet ﷺ, `Why is it that we (women) are not mentioned in the Qur'an as men are?' Which ayath has been revealed in response to this?

بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِٱلرَّحِيمِ

Answer: "Verily, those who submit to Allah (Muslim)  men and women, the believing men and women, the men and women who are obedient (to Allah), the men and women who are truthful (in their speech and deeds), the men and the women who are patient (in performing all the duties which Allah has ordered and in abstaining from all that Allah has forbidden), the men and the women who are humble (before Allah), the men and the women who give Sadaqa, the men and the women who observe fast, the men and women who guard their chastity and the men and women who remember Allah much with their hearts and tongues,  Allah has prepared for them forgive ness and a great reward." (Al-Ahzab, 33:35).

Umm Salamah (RA) the wife of the Prophet ﷺ said, "I said to the Prophet ﷺ, `Why is it that we (women) are not mentioned in the Quran as men are?' "Then one day without my realizing it, the Prophet ﷺ was calling from the Minbar and I was combing my hair, so I tied my hair back then I went out to my chamber in my house, and I started listening out, and he was saying from the Minbar the ayath 35 in 33 surah."

Allah has revealed so many ayaath about the women in Quran.

★ Religiously Allah consider both men and women equal:

"Never will I allow to be lost the work of any of you, be he male or female. You are (members) one of another"(3:195). A Muslim, whether a man or woman with basic qualities and good characters like obedience, truth, patience, humbleness, purity and who remember Allah much will be raised  to equal ranks with equal rewards by Allah.

Allah promise the reward for both believing men and women equally:

"For men there is reward for what they have earned, (and likewise) for women there is reward for what they have earned, and ask Allah of His Bounty. Surely, Allah is Ever All- Knower of everything." (4:32)

"On the Day you shall see the believing men and believing women their light running forward before them and by their right hands. Glad tidings for you this Day! Gardens under which rivers flow, to dwell therein forever! Truly, this is the great success!" (57:12).

"Whoever does righteous good deeds, male or female, and is a true believer in the Oneness of Allah, such will enter Paradise and not the least injustice, even to the size of a speck on the back of a date-stone, will be done to them. (4:124). The same is said in16:97 & 40:40.

"He ..... may expiate the believing men and the believing women from their sins, and that is with Allah, a supreme success."(48:5)

"Verily, those who give Sadaqa, men and women lend to Allah a goodly loan, it shall be increased manifold and theirs shall be an honourable good reward." (57:18)

The punishment for them is also equal:

"And that He may punish the hypocrite men and women, and also the Mushrikun men and women, who think evil thoughts about Allah, for them is a disgraceful torment and the Anger of Allah is upon them and He has cursed them and prepared Hell for them and worst indeed is that destination." (48:6)

"Had there not been believing men and believing women whom you did not know, that you may kill them, and on whose account a sin would have been committed by you without knowledge, that Allah might bring into His Mercy whom He will, if they (the believers and the disbelievers) should have been apart, We verily had punished those of them who disbelieved, with painful torment." (48:25)

"Verily, those who put into trial the believing men and believing women (by torturing them and burning them), and then do not turn in repentance, (to Allah), will have the torment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the burning Fire." (85:10)

Allah commands His Prophet ﷺ to ask forgiveness for both:

"So know (O Muhammad ﷺ) that La ilaha ill-Allah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah), and ask forgiveness for your sin, and also for (the sin of) believing men and believing women."(47:19)

“O Prophet ﷺ! When believing women come to you to give you the Baia (pledge), that they will not associate anything in worship with Allah, that they will not steal, that they will not commit illegal sexual intercourse, that they will not kill their children, that they will not utter slander, intentionally forging falsehood (i.e. by making illegal children belonging to their husbands), and that they will not disobey you in any Maruf (Islamic Monotheism and all that which Islam ordains) then accept their pledge, and ask Allah to forgive them, Verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." (60:12).

Allah heard the statement of a women regarding her husband:

"Indeed Allah has heard the statement of her (Khaulah bint Tha'labaromh) that disputes with you (O Muhammad ﷺ) concerning her husband (Aus bin As-Samit) and complains to Allah. And Allah hears the argument between you both. Verily, Allah is All-Hearer, All-Seer. (58:1)

Allah gave guidance in Quran specially to women: "And tell the believing women -

* to lower their gaze,

* to protect their private parts,

* not to show off their adornment,

* draw their veils all over not to reveal their adornment to others and

* not to stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment. (24:31)

* not to accuse chaste women, (24:23)

* not to annoy believing men and women undeservedly, (33:58)-

* let not (some) women scoff at other women, it may be that the latter are better than the former, nor defame one another, nor insult one another by nicknames. (49:11)

Allah has revealed verses regarding the wives of Prophet ﷺ:

Allah revealed 10 to 18 ayaath of Surathun Noor with regard to the slander of Ayesha (RA), the wife of the Prophet ﷺ.

"O Prophet (ﷺ)! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies. That will be better, that they should be known (as respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. (33:59)

"O wives of the Prophet! You are not like any other women. If you keep your duty (to Allah), then be not soft in speech, lest he in whose heart is a disease should be moved with desire, but speak in an honourable manner. (33:32)

"O Prophet (ﷺ)! Say to your wives: If you desire the life of this world, and its glitter. Then come! I will make a provision for you and set you free in hand- some manner (divorce)." (33:28)

"O wives of the Prophet (ﷺ)! Whoever of you commits an open illegal sexual intercourse, the torment for her will be doubled "(33:30)

O you who believe! ......when you ask (Prophet's ﷺ wives) for anything you want, ask them from behind a screen, that is purer for your hearts & for their hearts. & that you should not ever marry his wives after him (his death)." (33:53)

Allah has sent a Surah, "Marium" in the name of a woman.

الحمدلله
